Look what we found in the garden -- Worms!

Here are photos from the Fall 2009 lessons/planting,

which took place in October 2009.

One of the first-grade classes learning about plants and what parts of the plant we eat.

The seeds were planted and covered with blankets to protect them while they germinated. The blankets also kept the seeds from flying away in the October winds.

Even the Tedde classes helped plant seeds in their own garden plot.

One of the second-grade classes planting their vegetable garden.

Here are some photos of the gardens before and after planting.

The Green Thumbs (2nd grade) garden before planting. You can see the summer pumpkin patch in the background.

The parents, teachers, and children took great pride in making their gardens all their own. This photo was taken just before the Christmas holiday.

Another pre-holiday garden photo. Looks like there are probably vegetables to harvest!

Parents help teach nutrition lesson in classroom, then bring it to the table at home.
